2008 Update - Robert and dylan mackenzie
Dylan Mackenzie has been competing in the Mountaineering Council of Scotland Youth Climbing Series 2008 which entails 3 rounds of competitions for youngsters across Scotland both in the North and the South. Dylan has completed 2 rounds so far, consistently onsighting F7a and has won both rounds which makes him a dead certainty to win the series!
The next round will be held at Inverness Leisure Climb on 26th April 2008- so we would like to wish Dylan all the best!
Robert Mackenzie has been concentrating on studying for his Scottish Higher Grades so has not had the opportunity to climb as much as he usually does but I'm sure he'll be back out there very
soon!

2007 Update - Peter and Robert are selected for the British Team!
We would like to express our congratulations to Robert and Peter who have both made it to the Junior British Climbing Team this year. Both boys will represent Great Britain in 2007, competing at international level with regular training sessions and the support of great coaches.
Robert and Peter both travelled to the team trials on December the 2nd in Leeds. These took the same format as the BICCS with 2 flash qualifiers and an on-sight final. Robert was competing in the Junior Male category and put in a fantastic performance to win this category and secure his place on the team. Peter competed in the older category of Senior Male and a great performance here saw him secure 9th place. This along with his potential and history saw him land a spot on the team.
These results topped off a great year for both boys. As well as competing in the World Youth Championships in Imst, Austria, Robert competed in the European Youth Championships in Kranj in November and got his best ever placing of 8th. He has since competed in dry tooling competition where he came 2nd and the Aviemore Bouldering league where he came 1st in the first round.
Peter also competed in the World Youth Championships and since then has been training hard and focussing on moving forward in the sport with each event he tackles.
Upcoming team events:
27th October - EYC in Linz (Austria) TBC
24th November - EYC in Kranj (Slovenia) TBC
We’ll keep you up to date with developments here but in the meantime we are delighted to continue our support of both Peter and Robert and wish them the best of luck for the coming year.
