Petzl Charlet
Nitro Shock Absorber
-
The Petzl Charlet Nitro is designed to protect marginal anchors from shock loading. The Nitro is suitable for ice screw placements and abolokov's, but also good for some rock routes with limited gear.
The Petzl Nitro Shock Absorber is effectively a nylon sling sewn with stitches that are designed to tear when shock loaded. The Nitro is used as a quickdraw would be, but when shock loaded, the folded sling deploys by ripping the retaining stitching, which absorbs the impact forces of a major fall.
