Macpac is a group of people who design and test high performance outdoor gear. We are passionate outdoor enthusiasts who live, work and play in New Zealand’s South Island. Our environment is challenging – unpredictable weather, dense rugged bush and mountains that demand respect. This shapes our approach. We design and build fit-for-purpose gear that you can depend on out there.
Our purpose is unchanged – to inspire people to explore the natural world. We believe that adventures in the outdoors provide balance and enjoyment in life, opportunities for us to develop as individuals, and a great way to share experiences with friends – old and new.

We continue to look for ways to support our own commitment to the environment, with robust design, a legendary repair programme and staff who take conservation seriously.
