The Belay Master eliminates the classic problem of carabiner rotation while belaying or rappelling - which could result in dangerous cross loading. All carabiners are strongest when loaded along their "major axis" or spine and the 'biner we use to belay from is no exception. The Belay Master assures proper orientation each and every time for smooth hassle free operation. Thread your belay device, clip the bight of rope to your Belay Master Biner & screw the gate locked - then and only then can you snap the molded Nylon gate shroud into place over the locking collar - a mechanical double secure feature. May be used with your favorite rappel device or the Italian (Munter) hitch.
