A justifiably popular lightweight 3 season hiking boot from Raichle, the scout has been around for a few years now, and has been through a few facelifts, but the concept has always stayed the same. A lightweight suede leather and textile panelled upper with a gore-tex lining, on a suitable lightweight soft flexing low profile sole unit. The vibram hiking sole has a low profile traditional block profile tread design to give good contact on harder surfaces and incorporates the new patented flexible veins to improve grip in softer conditions, this gives a lighter weight sole unit that gives the performance of heavier blockier units, the dual density PU (polyurethane) shock absorbing midsole incorporates Raichles patented rolling technology, this gives soft shock absorbing on initial heel strike, and support through the stride to the natural movements of the foot. The upper is constructed with suede leather to give some support and durability where required, it has a full suede toe area to protect your pinkies! With an additional rubber toe cap to protect from rockier terrains, a textile tongue and side panels help improve weight reduction and increase breathability and the textile cuff reduces shin rub and tightness on the upper ankle. Inside the gore-tex lining will keep out the wet until you stand in the river and it goes over the top, making this boot suitable for year round walking, also internally good use of high density padding has been used in the tongue and ankle area to give improved fit and hold plus helps reduce pressure from lacing. Altogether this boot is suitable for year round usage for regular local area walking/rambling and the odd excursion up the larger hills by the recognised routes.
