A classic, box quilted style coat, the Iceguard Coat for women by Jack Wolfskin is not only extremely warm but windproof, too, courtesy of the super-lightweight, high tearstrength Stormlock Active Ripstop shell fabric. Beneath the shell, a thick layer of Microguard Silver provides superb insulation, an interlining material that delivers a nicely balanced and warm wear climate, even in lower temperatures, and was originally developed for use in high performance sleeping bags. The longer, knee-length cut and internal cold block fleece cuffs contribute to the effectiveness of this “winter heating system”.
