The midsole is reinforced with an additional moulded thermo plastic shank (TPU) and finished with the Vibram outsole.

- The Manta is Scarpa's new and improved Manta, offering a lighterweight boot (approximately 10% lighter) than it's predecessor. The Manta is perfectly suited for 4 season walking, UK winter climbs, 'easier' alpine climbs, and glacier walking/trekking. The Manta will take a full step in crampon (B2 recommended) . The fit of this Manta has been improved with more trials and tests to perfect the last, and the new pro-fibre mid sole gives slightly more flex, but still offers enough rigidity for crampon use.

The Total Traction sole unit provides outstanding grip on any type of mountain terrain, very stable thanks to the low profile and lateral stiffness, and is extremely dexterous for climbing. Comfort is enhanced by PU inserts in the heel and metatarsal area which add 30% extra cushioning (compared to traditional mountain boot soles) for long hard approach/trekking in cold icy conditions.
