Patagonia Women's Microdini 1/2 Zip Pullover - Orange Orange - Tiso

Product Description

Lightweight and soft, this Women’s Microdini ½ Zip Pullover from Patagonia will provide everyday warmth and comfort whether you wear it as an outer layer on mild, breezy days or layer it underneath a jacket when there’s a definite chill in the air. Made from bluesign® approved recycled polyester, this fleece is light and has a brushed face, so it stays soft and provides warmth with its stand-up collar. The bluesign® approved recycled nylon chest pocket is finished with a PFC-free durable water repellent to protect your valuables from light moisture and dirt and a relaxed fit means the fleece is cosy with elasticated cuffs sealing in that all-important warmth. It’s highly versatile too - wear in the winter with jeans and a jacket, or in the summer with your shorts for that extra layer around the campfire.

Think Green

We know our customers like to know exactly what they're buying; we're not going to sugar coat it, but we are going to explain it. We've divided up all of the sustainable features we've identified across our product ranges and grouped them into three so you know how your purchase is making an impact: Think Nature, Think Welfare, Think People.

The Patagonia Women's Microdini 1/2 Zip Pullover - Orange has the following sustainability attributes...

Think Green Logo
  • Bluesign®

A bluesign® approved product consists of at least 90% bluesign® approved textiles and/or 30% bluesign approved accessories. The aim of the bluesign® system is responsible use of resources, clean processes with controlled air and water emissions, safe processes for the workers and safe products for consumers. Bluesign® is an independent third party and sets out strict criteria for manufacturers and brands to follow to be certified bluesign. By buying bluesign®, you are guaranteed a product that has been made with the least harmful substances possible.

  • Fair Trade Certified

This item is Fair Trade certified. Fair Trade directly improve the lives of the people who make the product you buy. Members of Fair Trade, i.e. the people who grow the coffee beans or make the product, are part of a co-operative. Not only is there a minimum fair price paid for their product, but there’s also an additional premium paid by the brand which the co-operative decides how to spend within their community. It might go towards a well for clean drinking water, better farming equipment or a community school. Fair Trade are strict on their compliance and certification, so you can be safe in the knowledge that a Fair Trade product is from a sustainable, properly paid supply chain.

  • PFC-Free DWR

Fluorinated DWR finishes make clothing waterproof by repelling water droplets. ‘PFCs’ is the broad term for all fluorocarbon chemicals, of which PFOS and PFOA are sub-groups. Different chemicals in this family have a varying number of carbon atoms, so C6 has six carbon atoms and C8 has eight. While the outdoor industry has moved away from C8 (or 'long chain') PFCs, C6 (short chain) PFCs are currently unbeatable in their waterproofing performance. They're considered less harmful to the environment than C8, but they have not been proven to be safe. PFCs are known as forever chemicals; once created they will never break down and are harmful to people and the planet. To read more about the chemistry related to PFCs, head here.

PFC-Free DWR uses alternative, biodegradable technologies that repels water from the surface of a fabric - such as Fjallraven's Greenland Wax. PFC-Free DWR coatings are water resistant enough for most daily activities, so if you don’t need a highly technical waterproof, consider a PFC-Free garment instead.

  • Recycled Fabrics

By recycling fabrics, we are not only stopping extra waste heading to landfill but also reducing the need for virgin fabrics to be created. Recycled fabrics can be anything from recycled polyester to recycled cotton and where recycled cotton is used, it's often offcuts from factory floors that would otherwise end up in landfill.

  • Fair Labor Association

This brand partners with the Fair Labor Association (FLA). The FLA has a broader remit and does not just focus on the apparel industry. They aim to protect workers rights around the world and collaborate with universities, civil society organisations and companies to create sustainable working conditions. FLA have their own Code of Conduct based off the UN’s International Labour Organisation’s (ILO) standards. Affiliated companies must implement this Code of Conduct across their supply chain.

Top Tips

Chest is usually the best size predictor for tops and jackets. However, if your hip measurement is larger, consider buying the size indicated for your hips. Likewise, for legwear, hips are usually the best size predictor, but if your waist measurement is larger, consider buying the size indicated by your waist.

How to Measure

Chest: Measure around your chest, just under the armpit.

Waist: Measure around the waist at the smallest circumference.

Hips: Stand, feet together, and measure around the largest circumference at hips.

Fit Guide

Although each Patagonia product is designed and shaped specifically for its intended use, to describe their fits, they use four categories:

Formfitting: conforms to the body’s contours.

Slim Fit: closer-fitting. Slim-fitting technical garments may be worn over baselayers and light midlayers.

Regular Fit: neither slim nor oversized. Regular-fitting technical garments may be worn over heavier midlayers.

Relaxed Fit: drapes loosely on the body.
