Combining durability, reliability and innovation to create a jacket capable of withstanding rugged and harsh winter mountain environments, the Men’s Lofoten GORE-TEX Insulated Jacket is a testament to Norrona’s heritage and philosophy. Utilising GORE-TEX® ePE membrane in the outer face, this jacket boasts total waterproofing (28,000mm) to protect from snow and moisture, enhanced breathability to optimise temperature regulation during high-intensity activities and complete windproofing to brave the windchill as you descend the mountain.
Perfect for freeriding on the slopes or off-slope activities during colder winter days in the mountains, this jacket is part-insulated with high-quality PrimaLoft® Silver filling distributed according to body mapping so it pinpoints proper insulation where you’ll need it the most. Featuring a Storm hood compatible with freeride helmets and a one-handed adjustment, make changes on the go, and asymmetric Velcro® cuffs, integrated hand gaiters and an asymmetric longer back cut with a snow skirt that can be hidden away with a snap and fold system, keep the cold and snow out and heat locked in.
Offering an array of pockets to store your ski day essentials, the Lofoten has two handwarmer pockets, an external YKK® zippered chest pocket, inside mesh pocket and a key card pocket on the upper arm for your ski pass or a radio. You’ll also find a handy goggle and sunglasses wipe on the inside pocket to keep your visibility tip-top. With articulated elbows and an elasticated hem to enhance flexibility, and YKK® side and chest zips to maximise ventilation, embark on your next ski season with the Lofoten GORE-TEX Insulated Jacket.

Fluorinated DWR finishes make clothing waterproof by repelling water droplets. ‘PFCs’ is the broad term for all fluorocarbon chemicals, of which PFOS and PFOA are sub-groups. Different chemicals in this family have a varying number of carbon atoms, so C6 has six carbon atoms and C8 has eight. While the outdoor industry has moved away from C8 (or 'long chain') PFCs, C6 (short chain) PFCs are currently unbeatable in their waterproofing performance. They're considered less harmful to the environment than C8, but they have not been proven to be safe. PFCs are known as forever chemicals; once created they will never break down and are harmful to people and the planet. To read more about the chemistry related to PFCs, head here.
PFC-Free DWR uses alternative, biodegradable technologies that repels water from the surface of a fabric - such as Fjallraven's Greenland Wax. PFC-Free DWR coatings are water resistant enough for most daily activities, so if you don’t need a highly technical waterproof, consider a PFC-Free garment instead.
By recycling fabrics, we are not only stopping extra waste heading to landfill but also reducing the need for virgin fabrics to be created. Recycled fabrics can be anything from recycled polyester to recycled cotton and where recycled cotton is used, it's often offcuts from factory floors that would otherwise end up in landfill.
