Stolen Goat is a British cycling apparel brand who don't shy away from the bright and the bold. But they aren't just colourful jerseys, they create high performance and extremely comfortable cycling kit using ground breaking materials and technologies. Gone are the days of women's cycling kit being pinked and shrinked from the men's range; Stolen Goat excels in designing products for women (and men too). In 2020 they won Cycling UK's Women's Cycle Clothing Brand of the Year and there are plenty of reasons why - their products will keep you cycling throughout the seasons.
The Climb & Conquer jacket is designed to be worn in the coldest of months. With its soft brushed lining, you may be surprised to find that it's extremely water repellent and windproof. The only thing stopping it from being fully waterproof is the lack of taped seams, but this does mean that it stays breathable. The fabric is called 'Tempest Protect' which gives you an idea of the weather you can wear it in. The pocket panel on the back employ highly reflective pixel 100 fabric. Subtle grey to the naked eye, it packs a punch in deteriorating light, by reflecting a light source like car headlamps. A perfect addition should you want to increase your visibility at night without compromising the look of the jacket during the day.
Wear this jacket in temperatures below 8 degrees and you'll only need to pair it with a base layer. When the temperature goes further towards zero, you can layer a little more underneath it and still stay warm. This jacket is practically made for Scottish winters.
Alongside the aesthetic, there are plenty of practical points of note: neckline zip protector, a water-resistant 4th pocket for the essentials, headphone cable hole, soft cuffs which fit perfectly under gloves - we could go on and on.
The difference between the Orkaan and the Climb & Conquer styles of Stolen Goat cycling tops mostly come down to the thickness and the fit. The Climb & Conquer is a substantial (though breathable) jacket with a more athletic fit. The Orkaan is thinner and a much more flexible, stretchy fabric with a slightly looser fit.
This jacket creates a new benchmark for winter jackets: it's visible without being garish, it's water resistant without being sweaty, and it's just plain fun and uplifting to wear.
