Product Description

The combination of 30 denier Pertex Shield 3-layer fabric and series of impressive features make the Firewall Jacket a fantastic all-rounder. The fabric perfectly balances cost, durability, packability, protection and comfort for three-season mountain use. Meanwhile, multiple pockets provide plenty of places to stash snacks and other essentials and hem drawcords and hook and loop cuff tabs keep draughts out and warmth in. To top it all off, the hood is helmet compatible with 2-way adjustment for a secure fit, meaning it can be rolled away when it isn't needed and articulated sleeves and stretchy fabric provide great freedom of movement. If you only want one jacket to take you all the way from the peaks to the pub, then the Firewall will not disappoint.

  • PFC-Free DWR

    Fluorinated DWR finishes make clothing waterproof by repelling water droplets. ‘PFCs’ is the broad term for all fluorocarbon chemicals, of which PFOS and PFOA are sub-groups. Different chemicals in this family have a varying number of carbon atoms, so C6 has six carbon atoms and C8 has eight. While the outdoor industry has moved away from C8 (or 'long chain') PFCs, C6 (short chain) PFCs are currently unbeatable in their waterproofing performance. They're considered less harmful to the environment than C8, but they have not been proven to be safe. PFCs are known as forever chemicals; once created they will never break down and are harmful to people and the planet. To read more about the chemistry related to PFCs, head here.

    PFC-Free DWR uses alternative, biodegradable technologies that repels water from the surface of a fabric - such as Fjallraven's Greenland Wax. PFC-Free DWR coatings are water resistant enough for most daily activities, so if you don’t need a highly technical waterproof, consider a PFC-Free garment instead.

  • Fair Wear Foundation

    This brand partners with the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF). The Fair Wear Foundation is a clothing industry specific, non-profit organization that ensures sustainable, fair and safe labour conditions in factories. They work directly with brands, factories, trade unions, NGOs and governments to establish a living wage and a working environment that’s free from gender-based violence, discrimination and harassment. How to Measure

Chest: measure around the fullest part of the chest with your arms down. Usually just under the pits.

Waist: measure around the narrowest part of the waist. Your waist is at the small of your back or where your body bends if you lean to the side.

Arm length: measure from the side of your neck to wrist fold, over the top of your arm.

Fit Descriptions

Slim: a streamlined silhouette. Cut trim following the contours of the body. Expertly placed articulation of seams and the use of stretch fabric ensure maximum freedom of movement in these close-fitting terms.

Regular: neither slim nor loose. Regular fit items are the perfect balance of form fit and ease of movement.

Relaxed: a more generous fit. Cut loosely through the body allowing for ease of movement and additional layering.

Expedition: designed specifically to accommodate the layering system and equipment required for high altitude and polar expeditions.
