About The Gosford:
Imagine a bike that wasn't just easy to pedal, but actively helped push you along. A bike that included a motor but that didn't add tons of weight. A bike that amplified your own input and allowed you to really enjoy cycling. This is the Gosford.
The heart of the Gosford is the Fazua motor. This electric engine is so sleek you'd barely know it was there. The whole system fits neatly in the downtube and assists your pedalling by up to 400W - to put that in perspective, that's almost another person riding on the same bike! The battery also fits in the downtube and at 250WH could take you up to 50km on a single charge. The handlebar mounted remote allows you to switch between power modes to obtain the best balance of speed to distance from your battery, and if you choose no assistance, the whole system adds less than 5kg to the weight of your bike.
Like most e-bikes, the motor amplifies your pedalling - there's no twist-and-go throttle here - so the Gosford is a super option for anyone looking to ride further, explore on road, off road and everywhere in between. The rest of the bike is designed around this sort of exploratory riding featuring a light aluminium frame with a relaxed geometry and intuitive handling. Whether you're riding in traffic, on country lanes, or up in the forest on fire roads and trails, the Gosford is a joy to ride. Large trye clearance means plenty of room for mudguards, racks and other accessories too.
Wide 47c tyres have considerably more volume than typical hybrid style tyres. This has several benefits including greater comfort on rough trails, enhanced grip and better puncture protection. A single ring drivetrain with 11 rear gears is simple to operate, reliable and a perfect match for the nature of the Gosford. Hydraulic disc brakes provide controlled stopping power in all conditions while Whyte's own finishing kit complete this nippy and comfortable setup, with their unique wide drop bar offering lots of hand positions.
The Gosford really is a jack of all trades. Take it on the road and zip along thanks to the efficient position and drop bars. Commute through town and arrive at work in comfort. Explore up in the hills on bridleways and trails with a little extra help when the going gets tough. It's a bike for explorers and adventurers, commuters and anyone who wants to go that bit further.
