The Bombtrack Arise Tour is, on first glance, just a bike made for long distance touring. At a shockingly good price point you get Tubus pannier racks, Supernova dynamo lights, a front hub dynamo, mudguards, bar end shifters and a groupset that'll get you over any mountain range on a fully loaded setup. But take the racks and mudguards off and you're ready for a weekend of gravel riding. Pop the rear pannier rack back on and you're off to work. It's a versatile bike that you'll want to ride everywhere. It's easy to say that a steel bike is ready for a world tour because it sounds good for marketing but you'll often find that there's so many other bits to buy. But the Arise Tour is the closest you'll come to an off the shelf, ready to go bike that'll take you on long bike tours again and again. Just add full panniers, pedals and a map.

If you are considering going to remote locations on a bike tour, keeping technology simple but high quality is key. Ideally, you don't want things to break in the first place, but if they do then you need to be able to fix them or replace them. The Arise does that perfectly - even down to the bar end shifters. That's not to say that this bike is old technology - you've got high quality Supernova dynamo lights with internal cable routing and 160mm disc brakes that'll stop you in any weather. There's clearance for up to 42c tyres and if you fancy a different 1x set up, clearance for a 44T chainring. WIth the smaller frames, you'll get 650b wheels so you're not too stretched. Bombtrack note that: Max tyre clearance of 650B x 47C is possible, but depending on the tire and rim combination it might be necessary to move the sliding dropout to a rearwards position or accept tire clearance of less than 6 mm between tyre and frame.
