About the 802:
Whyte are pioneers of the long and slack geometry that has spread throughout the biking world and, added to their British heritage and love of the hardcore hardtail, means the 802 is one of the most capable hardtails you'll find anywhere.
Geomtery is the very core of how a bike handles, and with a long top tube, short stem and wide bar, the 802 is bang on the money, providing stability at speed with quick and easy direction changes when required. The aluminium frame is light and tuned to provide a forgiving ride, yet transfer power efficiently to the rear wheel. Designed for a single front chainrings means the frame has more mud clearance but also more compliance than typical hardtails. This compact model is sized with proportionally shorter reach to suit smaller riders. All this tech really comes together on the trail to make a sweet handling trail bike that responds beautifully to your inputs.
The 120mm fork soaks up obstacles with minimal fuss while the 27.5" wheels and chunky 2.35" tyres provide the grip. Tubeless tyres and rims mean you can have the 802 setup tubeless easily for maximum performance off road. A 1x10 speed drivetrain is simple and rugged and works so well you'll barely notice it. Hydraulic disc brakes with a larger 180mm rotor up front gives you plemty of control in all conditions while the wide bar and short stem provide penty of leverage for confident cornering.
Taken as a whole, the 802 is an incredible all round trail bike at a superb price. Quality British engineering, forward thinking design, incredible handling and excellent reliability.
