About The Trek Dual Sport:
With the Dual Sport, Trek created a bike with versatility at its core. Designed to be a superb all round bike ready for anything, the Dual Sport can handle the rigours of commuting, long weekend rides, smooth bike paths and gentle off road trails, making it a great option for any rider who wants one bike to do it all. Whether you're after an affordable yet robust and fun bike for your teenager, or you're just looking to kick around your Uni campus, this is the bike for you're after.
The heart of the Dual Sport is a lightweight aluminium frame and short-travel suspension fork. The frame is tough and practical with mounts for full length mudguards, a rear rack, bottle cages and kickstand. This makes it perfect for touring or commuting where you need to carry some kit, and with full length mudguards, it keeps you and your kit well protected in wet weather. The suspension fork features a coil spring to iron out rough roads and trails, keeping you fresher for longer. Neat features like internal cable routing keeps vulnerable gear and brake cables out of the worst of the weather for longer life and better performance.
Fast rolling Bontrager GR1 tyres are a great option for all round riding, rolling easily on tarmac but having just enough grip to ride with confidence on fire roads, canal towpaths and the like. A wide ranging Shimano 2x8 speed drivetrain provides plenty of gears for all terrain in a reliable package with easy-to-operate trigger shifters. Mechanical disc brakes offer superior stopping power and are better equipped to deal with wet weather, providing consistent stopping power. A selection of Bontrager finishing kit includes a comfortable saddle and ergonomic grips to provide comfort in key areas.
Trek's Dual Sport is the best definition of an 'all round bike'. It will happily turn its hand to everything from daily commuting to touring or short rides with family. A well made and super versatile bike for all sorts of riding.
Please note: size small frames have a curved top tube that dips down as it approaches the seat tube. This design makes for a low standover height. The larger frames have a straight top tube.
