About The Emonda:
Weight. The fact is, the lighter your bike, the faster it's going to feel. Obviously there are some caveats there, but for any given road or climb, less weight means easier and faster riding. That's where Trek's Emonda line comes in.
Emonda was designed to offer the lightest weight possible at every price point, whether racing at the highest level or looking for a big bang for not too many bucks. A 300 series Alpha Aluminium frame features some top tech to keep that weight low, starting with neat invisible welds (which incidentally give the frame a carbon fibre look), shaped tubing to pare away material where it isn't required, sleek internal cable routing and sharp handling to really make the bike come alive. The bolt through Trek OCLV carbon fork reduces weight further while providing some vibration damping for more comfort. The bolt-thru axles make for a nice stiff setup for pin-point steering accuracy, and also help when you get on the gas sprinting for home. Altogether, it's a super high quality chassis with great ride quality. This aluminium frame is just as capable and efficient as many carbon frames, plus it's pretty durable to boot.
Attached to the Emonda are a smattering of quality parts to make the most of your energy. Shimano's Tiagra groupset is a real workhorse: smooth shifting, easy to service, and all the gear range you need for hammering interval training or slogging up Alpine climbs. Matching Tiagra hydraulic disc brakes ensure confident and powerful stopping power. No more pulling the brakes hoping the bike will stop. Hydraulic discs offer incredible power so the lightest touches can keep you in control. Bontrager's Affinity wheelset is everything you need to make the most of the Emonda's speed: light, durable and shod with fast rolling R1 tyres in 25c width. Bontrager's own finishing kit completes a classy look and sizes each component to suit the frame size so you get the best fit possible.
The Emonda is a real road bike. There's no diluting its purpose with chunky tyres or lower gear ranges, it's a road bike for riding fast on the road. It's efficient when pedalling, sharp handling when descending, and as eager as you are to get where you're going, fast.
