About The Domane AL Disc:
A perfect introduction to road cycling, the Domane AL series offers everything you need to feel the thrill of the road and generate serious speed.
The Domane has been Trek's premier road bike for several years, offering a great mix of speed, comfort and outright performance. The new AL Disc series builds on that reputation with a great design and quality components. The new aluminium frame is designed to offer comfort over long distance thanks to its Endurance geometry. This puts the rider in an efficient pedalling position while still offering sharp handling and a lively turn of speed. The carbon fibre fork complements this perfectly by reducing vibrations from the road. Put it all together and you've got a bike capable of everything from short evening blasts to all-day 100 mile rides.
Like most modern rod bikes, the Domane features disc brakes. These are one of the biggest advances in road bike technology over the last few years as they offer more powerful braking, more control, and far better performance in wet weather. The frame and fork feature clearance to comfortably fit a 32c width tyre (or 35c without mudguards) which means you get excellent grip and comfort, not to mention room to fit a mudguard should you want to prepare the bike for winter.
This AL 2 model features a Shimano Claris 2x8 speed groupset. With proper combined brake/shift levers and smart internal cable routing, the gearing is easy to use and protected from the elements for a long life. The compact chainset and wide ranging cassette means you have a good selection of gears to cope with steep climbs all the way to sprints. Bontrager's finishing kit includes ergonomically shaped handlebars and a comfortable saddle. The bars, stem, seatpost and saddle are all sized to match each frame size so you can get the very best fit possible. Tektro cable disc brakes are reliable performers while the tyre feature Hard-Case technology to prevent punctures.
As a starter road bike, the Domane is hard to beat. Great design and sound components make it a top performer at a top price.
