Built with Shimano's new wireless 105 Di2 electronic drivetrain for those snappy, clean shifts, an IsoSpeed decoupler for road smoothing comfort and hydraulic disc brakes for powerful braking, the Trek Madone SL6 has the aero looks and performance that you'll love to ride.

The stand-out feature of the Madone and the thing that makes it look a bit like a spaceship is the IsoFlow frame design. The head tube all the way back to the junction between the seat tube and seat stays has been totally redesigned to improve airflow and vertical compliance at the saddle. This has the benefits of making the bike faster and lighter while retaining much of the bump-smoothing comfort of the IsoSpeed seat tube decoupler found in previous iterations.

There's a totally new, one-piece cockpit too. The new bar-stem is more aero in itself but it also makes the rider more aero. By narrowing the hoods the rider presents a smaller frontal area but the drops maintain a normal width for stability when sprinting and descending. The bike is also designed exclusively around electronic drivetrains, which means fewer cables and holes in the frame for lighter weight and, you guessed it, better aerodynamics.

The spec on this bike matches the frame for emphasis on speed, quality and weight reduction. For a start, the wheels have deep-section, carbon fibre rims, with Bontrager R3 25mm tyres. These are driven by a Shimano 105 Di2 12-speed groupset. This drivetrain makes snappy electronic shifting more accessible in a super tidy wireless format. The crankset even has a built-in power meter for targeted training, race pacing and progress analysis. Trek have opted to go disc brake only for enhanced stopping power and better reliability in varied weather conditions.
