Campervan Adventure | Jerba Campervans

Scotland's leading outdoor clothing and adventure specialists since 1962.

Scotland is an incredible country to explore, from the wild highlands to the picturesque Islands, there are so many adventures out there!

This autumn we partnered with Jerba Campervans on a 5 day adventure around this wonderful country. We travelled from the central belt, up into the highlands including the stunning Glen Etive and Glencoe and then out to the Isle of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides.

Jerba Campervans

A campervan adventure is a complete luxury compared to our normal camping adventures and Jerba campervans are the most luxurious there are! Jerba campervans are based in North Berwick in East Lothian and are a official Volkswagen registered vehicle body builder.

Jerba Campervans offer a range of T6 campervan layouts and designs from the most popular short wheel base Tiree, to their long wheel base award winning Sanna!

Jerba Campervans also hire out three of their campervan models. For our adventure we took the Tiree, a short wheel base VW T6 in bright yellow! The Tiree has enough sleeping space for four people, two on the foldout seat and two in the Jerba elevating roof and all the luxury mod cons you could wish for.

Glen Etive

As we arrived in Glen Etive, we were treated to a soul warming sunset behind the iconic Buachaille Etive Mor, then later after setting up camp and opening the whisky, the sky filled with bright stars, shooting stars and a perfect view of the Milky Way.

We were lulled into a false sense of calm by the evening’s weather, but this was Scotland after all and its wettest glen. During the night the clouds rolled in and the rain began to trickle, quickly gaining momentum to a rush of water splashing off the van roof.

In the morning, we pulled back the curtains of the van to see Glen Etive clad in cloud and an eerie mist hanging in the valley.

Tiree

After a very wet day in the highlands we headed to Oban and caught the ferry to the Isle of Tiree. We thought it would be fitting to take our campervan named Tiree to the Isle of Tiree. This beautiful Island lived up to all our expectations.

We began exploring and found a picturesque beach on the islands most easterly point, overlooking the Isle of Coll. White sand, turquoise water and not another soul in sight. A seal bobbed close to the shore and we began to adjust to the calm of island life.

As the sun began to dip, the sky put on an amazing display of colours, oranges, yellows and reds filled the sky and clung to any remaining clouds. We headed to our croft site camp spot and parked the van for the night. That evening we lit a roaring fire on the beach, toasted marshmallows and drank warm beer.

Campervan Hire

Jerba Campervans also hire out three of their campervan models. For our adventure we took the Tiree, a short wheel base VW T6 in bright yellow! The Tiree has enough sleeping space for four people, two on the foldout seat and two in the Jerba elevating roof and all the luxury mod cons you could wish for.

Jerba campervans also offer a Try Before You Buy programme. You can hire one of their three T6 conversions, then if you then decide to place an order for a brand new campervan within 12 months of the date of your hire, Jerba will take the price of one week’s hire off the price of your new T6.
