‘I’m not normally a fan of resolutions – life is too short to wait for change! But after such a successful and satisfying first year cycling, I do have some goals. Last season, I joined Team 22. It’s going to be a learning curve. Physically, I’ll be pushed to my limits, with hard training weeks and weekends racing. Mentally, staying positive can be difficult when you’re tired or not seeing results. But my plan is just to enjoy cycling, learn from others, become a stronger and better cyclist… and grab every opportunity that comes my way!’ – Rachel, Alpine Bikes Sales Assistant and Team 22 cyclist
‘My outdoors resolution is to meet with more like-minded people to walk Munros. I am almost at 200 Munros bagged and I hope to add more – especially some of the more remote summits – to my list in 2016. As well as encouraging friends to walk with me I will be meeting with people from my Facebook group Munroaming and joining a few walks with my local Milngavie Mountaineering Club’ – Fiona, blogger at Tiso.com and fionaoutdoors.co.uk
‘This year, I would love to stay in the Strathchailleach bothy near Sandwood Bay. There are no roads at all to the beach south of Cape Wrath – you have to walk everywhere! One of the least populated areas in Britain, it’s an ideal way to enjoy unspoilt white beaches and turquoise water... regardless of the temperature!’ – Lewis, Sales Assistant, Edinburgh Outdoor Experience (image © ARG_Flickr)
'My outdoor goal for 2016 is to do more high altitude speedflying. I'm heading to Monte Rosa in March to attempt to fly off the East Face from 4400 metres. It's the highest wall in the Alps, and should make for a quality flight if the weather is good enough! My friend and I are also considering a trip to climb Elbrus this summer. We'd be flying off from over 5600 metres' – Scott, Blues Ski Technician, Edinburgh
‘My resolution is to spend more time outdoors with my two daughters. What we do will be weather-dependent, but with skiing, winter walking, climbing, mountain biking and camping, we’ve got plenty of sports to choose from!’ – Ian, Blues Retail Manager, Edinburgh Rose Street
‘Since its launch last year, I’ve been desperate to do the North Coast 500. Dubbed as Scotland’s answer to Route 66, the drive takes in some of the most amazing scenery the Highlands has to offer. I’m planning to drag my partner around the route in the summer… and hopefully camp most of the way too!’ – Laura, Web Content Coordinator
‘The Gung-Ho event is a massive inflatable obstacle race that takes place throughout spring and summer in the UK. My friends signed up, and guess what? I got roped in too! In all seriousness, this is a great activity to do with a group of people. I just hope I make it round in one piece!’ – Gillian, Human Resources Manager
