A massive thank you to the nice people at Comrie Croft for allowing us to pitch all our new season tents! The Croft is a great destination for every type of camper with meadow, woodland & campervan pitches, teepee accomodation, plus some fantastic mountain bike trails for novice to expert, a brilliant cafe & farm shop, excellent facilities, and all set in a beautiful area of Perthshire. Go and visit, you won't regret it!

OEX Puma 2.1 | £200 £140

  • Weight | 3.4kg
  • Fly Hydrostatic Head | 5,000mm
  • Packsize | TBC

This season we're pretty excited to introduce OEX tents to our range. With value for money at the heart of everything they do, the Puma 2.1 is a great all round tent for camping wild, on campsites & even festivals. The dome style construction is solid and spacious, while full length pole sleeves make it easy to pitch. The design ensures there is plenty of internal space for two people & their kit, plus handy vents to reduce condensation. High level waterproofing makes the Puma a top performer at an affordable price.
"A great performing tent without the price tag. A little heavy for extended walking, but everywhere else it's ideal" - J Malone, Tiso Edinburgh

MSR Hubba Hubba NX | £445

  • Weight | 1.76kg
  • Fly Hydrostatic Head | 1,200mm
  • Packsize | 46 x 15cm

Utilising the same design as the award winning Elixir range, the Hubba Hubba ups the ante with considerably lighter fabrics & poles, making a remarkably stable 2 person tent well under 2kg. The free-standing design is simple to pitch & provides two doors & vestibules for ease of use. MSR's Xtreme Shield technology is ultra-durable (up to 3 times longer than standard waterproof treatments) and the quality construction means the Hubba Hubba will provide many nights of comfortable camping.
"I bought this tent as it can handle just about everything that’s thrown at it" - Scott Becker, Master Tecnincian, Blues Ski

Nordisk Lofoten Race 2 | £620

  • Weight | 0.5kg
  • Fly Hydrostatic Head | 1,600mm
  • Packsize | 11 x 22cm

This is really one for the racers. At barely half a kilo in weight and packing down to the size of a typical water bottle, the Lofoten is amongst the lightest tents in the world. The simple hoop design is robust and very quick to pitch, and the typical Nordisk construction is superb. The downside is space - there isn't much! It's cosy for two people, and you'll want to have similar ultralight kit to really make the most of this tent's capabilities, but for travelling light you won't find anything better.
"I've loved using this tent wild camping and bike packing. It's so light you barely know you're carrying it." - J Lewis, Tiso Edinburgh

Hilleberg Allak | £995

  • Weight | 3.3kg
  • Fly Hydrostatic Head | 5,000mm
  • Packsize | 51 x 18cm

Dome tents are ideal for standing tall in the toughest conditions & challenging locations. The Allak's free-standing design doesn't require a porch to be pegged out so it's ideal for hard ground or areas with limited flat space, which has made it very popular with climbers and paddlers. Hilleberg's construction and durability is legendary, and combined with the Allak's practical two door design and spacious interior makes this a top notch mountain tent for all year round use in arduous conditions.
"A properly tough mountain tent for harsh environments." - A Plumb, Tiso Equipment Buyer

Hilleberg Nallo 2 GT | £915

  • Weight | 2.9kg
  • Fly Hydrostatic Head | 5,000mm
  • Packsize | 48 x 18cm

Our pick is based very much on practicality and toughness. The Nallo 2 GT offers so much internal space it's a joy to be in, especially if you have big packs to stow, or bad weather to hide from. The tunnel design is stable even in high winds and the tent pitches & packs easily. Combined with it's lack of weight and superb quality, it's just a fantastic all rounder. There's no getting away from the cost, but for all round regular campers, this really is a fantastic piece of kit that will last for many seasons. It's a big investment, but a sound one too, and if you think the extra porch space is too much, try the regular Nallo for a more compact option.
