Maxxis' Minion is a legend in mountain biking, and the new DHF brings it right up to date as the best all-round trail tyre. An updated tread pattern offers grip and traction on loose through to wet surfaces, making it ideal for UK conditions which are rarely bone dry. Heavily ramped centre knobs help promote fast rolling while the shaping helps with sterring precision on damp and loose ground. The well-supported shoulder knobs provide confidence when leant over in turns and are the reason the DHF has such a loyal following.
The Exo sidewalls are beefed up to offer better protection from rock strikes, as well as better supporting the tyre in hard cornering. The WT designation includes a re-designed layout suitable for modern rims with 30-35mm width. This allows the tyre to inflate into its proper shape and minimises the tread becoming squared off. As with most MTB tyres, the Minion is tubeless ready and should be used this way to get top performance.
3C Maxx Terra refers to the Minion's rubber compound which uses three different rubbers to balance grip and durability. On the inner-most layer is a harder rubber which provides a stable base and help prolong the life of the tyre. Above in the centre is a softer rubber for grip and traction when you need it most. On the shoulders is an even softer compound for providing maximum grip when in the corners.
The Minion DHF has been a stalwart of our range for years. It offers loads of grip and predictable handling, ideal for technical trails in typical UK conditions. Pair with a Minion DHR or High Roller on the rear and you've got a winning combo.
