The style of Kisdon is Nordic/Alpine, i.e. one piece of leather with minimal stitching of the upper.
The boot has excellent foot and ankle support and although lightweight the Vibram sole gives good grip on a wide variety of terrain and conditions. The Kisdon is in the mountain boot category. However, it is still a very good boot for walking in Dales and hills.
The Kisdon boot is part of Altbergs ‘GFit’ range for wider feet with above average volume, especially around the forefoot.. The footshape is asymmetric and the heel is a medium size, to keep heel support good and snug. The boot is made from top quality 2.6mm Nubuck which will adapt to footshape. Nubuck leather is more breathable in summer. However, if your priority is waterproofing then the Nubuck can be treated with Leder-Gris wax oil. This will make the Nubuck more waterproof, similar to anfibio leather, note the change in appearance of the Nubuck is irreversible.

We know our customers like to know exactly what they're buying; we're not going to sugar coat it, but we are going to explain it. We've divided up all of the sustainable features we've identified across our product ranges and grouped them into three so you know how your purchase is making an impact: Think Nature, Think Welfare, Think People.
The Altberg Kisdon G-Fit - Brown has the following sustainability attributes...
Products using natural fibres can range from cotton to wool to hemp and silk - but by being naturally made, they will also naturally biodegrade at their end of lifecycle. Even if you have a natural fibre product, it can probably still be recycled or repurposed before being disposed of. However, if it truly has reached the end of its use, natural fibres need air to biodegrade so please don't dispose of them in landfill.
Keeping our items in circulation for longer is key to reducing environmental impact, and resoling your shoes/boots when the soles start wearing out can help you to hang onto them when there's otherwise a lot of life left in them. This pair can be resoled by the supplier - get in contact with the brand directly to organize a resole, or check out our recommended repair specialists.
This brand manufactures over 80% of its products in the country of its headquarters, which has many benefits both for the environment and for workers. Local production means less CO2 emissions, more control over working conditions, and helps to boost the local economy.
