We are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Buyer to work closely with the Head of Clothing & Outerwear to enhance our product offering to our customers, developing relationships with new and existing suppliers whilst ensuring maximum value and efficiency for the business.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Head of Clothing & Outerwear with proactive continuous product sourcing
  • Responsible for negotiation of terms and conditions with assigned Suppliers
  • Manage and maintain daily correspondence of assigned Suppliers
  • Achieve margin and product sell through targets
  • Maintain and develop excellent supplier relationships
  • Ensure right mix of product and maintain awareness of competitors position and market share
  • Assist the Head of Clothing & Outerwear in all aspects of the buying process through -
    • Attending buying appointments with them
    • UK & foreign travel where necessary
    • Managing critical path for each season
    • Product maintenance – cost prices, season codes
  • Attending ad-hoc buying appointments in the Head of Clothing & Outerwear’s absence to gather product information for review

Essential Skills & Requirements for the role:

  • Graduate or equivalent
  • Previous buying experience in a retail environment
  • Proven commercial experience of trading in a fast paced and reactive environment
  • Good judgment and decision making skills
  • Numerate with strong analytical and computer skills
  • Ability to commit to foreign travel as required (once or twice per year maximum)
  • Discreet, professional and with excellent communication skills
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Pro-active and able to show initiative/ideas to constantly improve the product offering.

Salary: Competitive depending on experience

We are looking to recruit a part time seasonal sales assistant to work on a temporary basis in our busy Glentress store for the busy spring and summer period.

Successful candidates will:

  • Have previous retail experience
  • Have good technical knowledge of bikes
  • Are active in cycling

Having a basic knowledge of mechanics would also be an advantage.

New Town Partnership is delighted to be working with leading outdoor retailer Tiso to appoint a new Group Head of Multi-Channel. Established in 1962 Tiso has been a significant presence within the outdoor market selling specialist clothing and equipment to their loyal client base online and across their retail estate.

Tiso is passionate about providing their customers with a quality proposition which includes best in class brands, range and service.  Born from a love of all things outdoor Tiso is seeking a multi-channel specialist to develop all aspects of their online retail proposition. This is a unique opportunity to lead a business in their ecommerce development and translate Tiso’s significant bricks and mortar success online.

Tiso Group comprises 4 fasciae including Alpine Bikes, George Fisher and Blues Ski.

The Head of Multi-Channel will be responsible for leading the growth of click sales across all categories.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO, Chris Tiso, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of the multi-channel strategy, including a seasonally aligned trading plan to deliver traffic, sales, conversion and profit.  Although already established online, the Company has ambitious growth expectations for the future.

The successful candidate would be the architect of the strategic online road map and be responsible for delivering it against agreed milestones.

This role will work closely with key stakeholders across the business to ensure the multi-channel strategy and proposition is aligned to the broader business goals and objectives and commercial opportunities are optimised.

Ideally the successful candidate will bring a strong retail background in multi-channel or e-commerce. Multi-channel experience from other sectors such as FMCG or the Food and Drink sector will be considered.

The ability to demonstrate strategic leadership experience within previous roles as well as tangible delivery on top line growth will be essential.

The key competencies of the role are outlined below:
