The 4Forty is Bell's entry level helmet for proper mountain biking. Featuring deep coverage at the rear and MIPS technology, it offers all the protection necessary for regular trail riding.

MIPS is scientifically proven to reduce the amount of force transferred to your brain on impact, and can significantly reduce the chance of serious damage. Fusion construction makes for a sturdy sheel and more able to handle the rough and tumble of riding life, and the adjustable visor accomodates glasses and goggles with ease.

The sleek retention system offers plenty of adjustment with an even tightening around the head. Flat straps sit nicely round your head and stay out of the way, meaning when in use, you'll barely notice the helmet at all. Washable pads ensure you can keep the 4Forty looking good for longer.

All together, the 4Forty is a classy MTB lid that offers top protection at a great value price.

Heavy and hot

It felt comfortable in the shop. It's heavy, neck feels strained, sweat pours into my eyes, itchy front pad, moves around unless very tight, finish scratches, 421g. I got a nomad to try.
