A sewn round sling is an essential piece of equipment that is made of kernmantle material. The tightly braided polyester sheath adds to the sling's durability by making it abrasion-resistant. It stiffens the sling, making it easier to create threads, and generates a reasonable clamping force when used as a prusik sling. On the other hand, the HMPE core is incredibly robust and provides excellent permanent flexural strength.
