The Glasgow Outdoor Experience offers you the complete Tiso experience all under one roof.

We offer a wide range of outdoor brands and products and our staff are outdoor enthusiasts and are always there to provide expert advice based on their first hand experience.  There is also a Blues The Ski Shop which offers an extensive range of skis, boots and clothing, together with expert fitting and advice.    Not only can you buy from our large range of outdoor gear but you can even try it out in-store! We have a 40ft “Pinnacle” climbing wall which is great for trying out new equipment or trying climbing for the first time.

We have recently decommissioned the ice wall which was the 1st of its kind when the store opened in 2000. In its place we are excited to announce the forth coming opening of our NEW Dry Tooling wall also the 1st of its kind in an outdoor store. Dry Tooling is a growth sport and our NEW dry tooling wall is a logical development for a winter skills wall, enabling traditional climbers to develop and hone their skills using themost up to date winter tools and climbing equipment. Designed by experts the new wall will challenge those familiar with dry tooling and allow the uninitiated their firstmoves in this exciting sport.

There is also an Alpine Bikes bike store which offers you a massive range of bikes, clothing and accessories for all your biking needs. In GOE as well as the usual range of Mountain, Leisure and Kids bikes there is a special focus on Road Bikes everything from race bikes to all day touring bikes.

As well as the usual great offering and hire facilities, this year you can look forward to a Gore bike wear try-before-you-buy centre (opening in June), a Trek “Project One” custom road bike centre (opening in May) and a Virtual Reality cycling area where you can ride a real bike up famous Tour de France mountain stages (opening in April).

We also have a Run-4-it store offering our customers running footwear, apparel and equipment.  For the 9th year running Tiso and top instructors at Stuart Johnston Mountaineering have again designed an unbeatable program of Mountain Skills Training courses. These short, one day courses will help you stay safe in the mountains, in winter or summer.  Whatever your experience level, our courses will help you to get out and enjoy the splendour of the mountains with the guidance of our qualified instructors and leaders.

Tiso Glasgow Outdoor Experience also hires out kit so you can try out a range of outdoor activites without having to invest in kit first off. Download out Hire Leaflet for more information.

Directions:

Westbound

  • If you are travelling along the M8 westbound, take Junction 16, signposted 'George Square'.
  • Immediately after taking that junction, take the left turn down Canal Street (if you miss this then continue down and turn left at the large junction. This loops around and rejoins where you need to be).
  • When you come to the traffic lights at the bottom of the hill, take the left again and go uphill, past the large Dales bike shop. At the next traffic lights turn left again. GOE is right in front of you. Take the next right turn to get into the car park.
Eastbound
Turn off junction 15 and follow signs for Cathedral St (you will encounter several sets of traffic lights and junctions). When you reach the end of Cathedral St (where the continuing road can only be used by buses and taxis) turn right up the hill. Continue up this hill until you can see GOE on the right.
