Cycle 2 Work

A Government scheme exists that can save you up to 42% off the price of a new bike*. It's called the Green Transport Plan, and it aims to make cycling more attractive and accessible by taking advantage of unique tax incentives.
Tiso staff will help you get the right bike and safety equipment for your needs through Cycle to Work. We have extensive experience in supplying bikes through Cyclescheme, Halfords Cycle2work, Cycle Plus and others. We have also developed the Alpine Bikes Cycle to Work scheme to benefit companies that don’t have an existing scheme in place. If your employer does not currently offer Cycle to Work, click here to email us and we'll contact them with more details.
Forget those public transport costs! Take the bike and save the thousands of pounds you'd spend on bus or train fares. Add this to the tax and National Insurance savings you can make through the Cycle to Work Scheme while spreading the cost over 12 months, and it's a no brainer.
A bicycle is virtually oblivious to congestion, queues and parking issues. For most city commutes, a bicycle gets you there faster from door to door.
Cycling to work increases fitness and improves overall health. It's a simple lifestyle change that can keep you in good shape without any costly, time consuming gym memberships.
The serotonin-inducing ride to work makes you more alert. The ride home helps you wind down. This is one of the key reasons why cycling to work is linked to greater productivity in the workplace and is an effective way to decrease stress.
With the environment being an ever-increasing concern, cycling to work is an easy way to help the planet. You'll minimise your own carbon footprint by taking your shiny new bike instead of the car or bus.

Rewarding your employees with a new bike and accessories is easier than you think... and it's cost effective! Here are just a few of the reasons why you should join the growing number of businesses encouraging active travel and a healthy lifestyle.
- Save National Insurance contributions on the salary sacrifice amount
- Claim capital allowance on the bike while it's on your balance
- Active employees take fewer sick days
- Enhance your benefits package to attract new staff

The Cycle to Work Scheme offers tax incentives that enable your staff to enjoy great savings on the price of a new bicycle. Once you sign up for a Cycle to Work Scheme in partnership with Alpine Bikes, it gives employees the opportunity to lease the bicycle of their choice via a tax-efficient salary sacrifice scheme over an agreed term (typically 12 or 18 months).
Employees can select from Alpine Bikes' vast range of bikes* and top up their order with related safety equipment (like a lock, helmet and set of lights). The combined value of the bike and accessories can be up to £1000 or more depending on your credit licence. Employees get to spread the cost of the whole order over an agreed period by having the cost of the bike deducted from their GROSS pay. The net result is that each employee gets the use of a brand new bike at approximately 25% to 39% off its regular price whilst spreading the cost. *This excludes sale bikes.

Setting up a Cycle to Work scheme is quick and easy whether you have one or 1,000 employees. If you are an employer who would like to enquire about signing up for the Alpine Bikes Cycle to Work scheme email us at customer.services@tiso.co.uk. Please fill in the form in the email so we've got as much information as possible to help you get started. Our Cycle to Work team will then contact you and provide you with all the relevant information required to sign up so that your employees can start enjoying the benefits of Cycle to Work.
We’ve been running successful Cycle to Work schemes across Scotland since the initiative began in 2003. Our experience means we can help you at every stage, from legal and admin documentation to marketing and cycle safety workshops. We want to ensure that employees get the most out of their Cycle to Work bikes.
