We know our customers like to know exactly what they're buying; we're not going to sugar coat it, but we are going to explain it. We've divided up all of the sustainable features we've identified across our product ranges and grouped them into three so you know how your purchase is making an impact: Think Nature, Think Welfare, Think People.
The Scarpa Women's Ranger Active Lite Gore-Tex Boot has the following sustainability attributes...
Products using natural fibres can range from cotton to wool to hemp and silk - but by being naturally made, they will also naturally biodegrade at their end of lifecycle. Even if you have a natural fibre product, it can probably still be recycled or repurposed before being disposed of. However, if it truly has reached the end of its use, natural fibres need air to biodegrade so please don't dispose of them in landfill.
Keeping our items in circulation for longer is key to reducing environmental impact, and resoling your shoes/boots when the soles start wearing out can help you to hang onto them when there's otherwise a lot of life left in them. This pair can be resoled by the supplier - get in contact with the brand directly to organize a resole, or check out our recommended repair specialists.
This brand manufactures over 80% of its products in the country of its headquarters, which has many benefits both for the environment and for workers. Local production means less CO2 emissions, more control over working conditions, and helps to boost the local economy.

After only a few months I got wet feet with these boots after hillwalking or walking in the rain. I regularly treat with Nikwax. My previous boots were Scarpa Delta GTX which kept me dry for years.
These are a lovely sturdy boot, my only gripe is for £200 I would have expected a better footbed, no arch support, so uncomfortable. I am buying a good insole as I love them otherwise.
I bought my first Scarpa women's walking boots 4 years ago and found them very comfortable and durable. I have walked many miles since then but have only now needed to replace them with another pair.
This is my 4th pair of these boots.
Really like them
