What to Wear Mountain Biking?

Wind, rain, mud, gravel, bark, rocks, sun, snow. Mountain biking is an adventure sport that can be full of blood, sweat and tears (and yes, we call this fun). Sure, you can wear anything you want when riding your mountain bike, this should not be a barrier to making the sport accessible - and some people even prefer to have the "less is more" approach. But being prepared with the proper kit will make your ride more enjoyable by keeping you safer and more comfortable. This guide will help to explain the different items of kit that can be worn while gettin' sendy on the trails so that you can decide what kit suits you.

Bike of The Month: Trek Roscoe 6

One of the highest spec cross country bikes for its price, the Trek Roscoe 6 (2021) comes with 100mm front travel, playful 27.5" wheels, an efficient 1 x 10 drivetrain set-up, comfortable dropper post and hydraulic disc brakes for under £1000. Unbe-frickin-lievable.

The Roscoe 6 would suit somebody who is new to mountain biking and looking to make their first investment in the sport. The wide tyres mean more contact with the ground for substantially more grip and traction while the wider bars and shorter stem give more control up-front. And the x1 system makes for easier maintenance - it's one less component to think about!

Altogether, the Roscoe is a super fun bike suitable for any mountain biker who values having a good time.
