About Osprey
Osprey, a company known for its high-quality backpacks, was founded in 1974 by Mike Pfotenhauer. Unsatisfied with the fit of his backpacking equipment, Mike learned to sew from his mother and created his first backpack. He later opened Santa Cruz Recreational Packs in California, which eventually became Osprey with the help of his business partner/wife Diane Wren and a small team of sewers. These Navajo women contributed to the growth and prosperity of Osprey, which led to the expansion of operations to Cortez, CO, where it remains headquartered.
Today, Osprey has offices in England and manufacturing facilities in Vietnam, but still employs local Navajo sewers at its original warehouse in Cortez. Despite its growth, Osprey remains committed to innovation and quality, a legacy started by Mike's relentless spirit towards craftsmanship.

Osprey, a company known for their technical and sustainable backpacks, offers the All Mighty Guarantee for their customers. The service includes free repairs or replacements for backpacks with defects, wear and tear, or accidental damage within their reasonable lifetime. To initiate the process, customers can submit a guarantee request to Osprey via their website or email at guarantee@ospreyeurope.com, providing necessary information and photos. The initial shipping cost is the customer's responsibility, except for packs purchased from their website. Repairs by Osprey are performed free of charge.

BACK SYSTEMS - TECHNOLOGY
Backsystems are the core technology behind backpacks, determining load carrying ability, ventilation, and comfort. Osprey has three different backsystem technologies: AirScape™, AirSpeed™, and AG AntiGravity™. Each one offers unique features, such as foam ridges for comfort and fit, ventilated mesh backpanels for airflow, and tensioned lumbar support for weight distribution. Choosing the right backsystem depends on the user's needs, activity level, and load weight.
