FAQ

Give our Aviemore store a call on 01479 788 840 or email aviemoreoe@bluestheskishop.co.uk to speak to our ski experts. We can then provide availability, costs, product & route advice, and get your booking confirmed.

See above for a list all our gear above and contact our Aviemore store to find out availability.

Once you collect your hire equipment you can go skiing anywhere in Scotland, though rental is charged per day so if you are travelling further afield you may need to hire over multiple days as equipment cannot be collected and returned outwith shop opening hours.

All equipment can be collected the evening before the hire, after 5pm, or in the morning of the hire from when the shop opens. All rental equipment must be returned to the shop before 5pm on the day of hire.

Our staff are exhaustively trained and have years of ski experience, plus we have an extensive service centre to ensure all kit is in top notch condition. We can discuss your requirements to ensure you get the kit you need.

Ski touring away from the piste presents more hazards so having a bit of mountain experience is certainly beneficial. Contact our team to discuss your requirements and we can provide less demanding routes and put you in contact with our partners (G2 Outdoors - https://www.g2outdoor.co.uk) who offer mountain safety and ski touring courses.

If you are a novice skier, it would be beneficial to get some lessons with a qualified instructor before diving into ski touring. Have a look at our training partners (https://www.g2outdoor.co.uk/) for details on how to get started with skiing.

The Cairngorms are a great place to start ski touring and our local experts can help with route advice to suit your abilities. You don’t need to seek out the toughest terrain to enjoy ski touring, and there are plenty of local routes that will put a smile on your face.

Ski touring provides the thrill of skiing with the joy of getting deep into the mountains, and is absolutely fantastic!
