Salewa's next-generation boots for alpine mountaineering, ice and mixed climbing, the Men's Ortles Couloir Mountaineering Boots have been developed in collaboration with mountain guides and professional climbers to ensure you have everything you need to tackle tricky and technical terrains in alpine conditions. Engineered to provide agility and support over mixed routes where you'll encounter ice climbs and glacial traverses, the Ortles Couloir Boots feature a double boot construction with a waterproof and breathable membrane, paired with an external nylon gaiter that's elasticated and closes with a water-resistant YKK® zip. 

The inner boot is durable in its nylon upper and offers warmth from the felt lining, with additional padding in the toe box and cold shield technology to protect against frostbite. Utilising carbon fibre in the frame, the Ortles Couloir are the lightest boots in their class, reducing thickness to maintain flexibility without hindering rigidity and strength where you need it most. The ankle features a dedicated APS (Ankle Protection System) that's connected to the boot by a hinged joint.

Fully crampon-compatible, the Ortles Couloir Boots are made with a Vibram® Litebase outsole that weighs 30% less than a conventional sole, giving you weight and energy saving benefits, whilst maintaining expert grip and traction, and optimal walkability.

• At the ankle, the dedicated carbon fibre Ankle Protector System (APS) is connected to the boot by a hinged joint
