Wild Camping on a Scottish Summit in Winter!
Join Ed and Bruce as they head into the hills for a Summit winter camp, chasing panoramic views, battling sub-zero temperatures, and putting their kit to the test.
On this adventure, Supported By Ed Fitz heads into the Scottish mountains for his first summit camp. From the start, they’re walking through snow, with incoming weather building on the horizon. In the sub-zero temperatures, icicles as long as Ed’s arm hang from the heather.
As they climb higher, the wind begins to pick up, making the pair even more keen to get the tent pitched. The effort is worth it. At the trig point, they’re rewarded with snow-encrusted panoramic views across the surrounding mountains.
After finding a sheltered spot, the pair pitch their tent and settle in with beef stew for dinner before hunkering down for the night, alarms set for sunrise. Morning delivers an unforgettable reward: pink skies lighting up Loch Lomond. For a first winter summit camp, it’s a success.
