Charity Partners

We are deeply committed to "putting something back". We aim to do this in variety of ways but primarily through our support of relevant charity partners based here in Scotland. The support we provide comes in different forms and is not exclusively financial as we believe practical initiatives can be equally helpful - we have provided The John Muir Trust with complimentary office space for nearly thirty years and both The Polar Academy and Alpine Training Centres receive essential clothing and equipment. We endeavour to promote the work of our four charity partners online, via social media and in store.

The Polar Academy

Our CEO co-founded the Academy with the Principal, Craig Mathieson in 2013. Tiso have remained a key partner ever since, helping facilitate hundreds of young people to change and redefine their lives through teamwork and exploration. The extraordinary work of the Polar Academy is now internationally recognised with several alumni now explorers in their own right continuing a rich national tradition.

Both our founders were long serving Trustees and Tiso have enjoyed a union with the trust that spans over thirty years. As a business that depends on people being able to live, work, access and enjoy the outdoors we recognise the need for a thoughtful, informed and practical approach to conservation.

Scottish Mountain Rescue

Both the late Graham Tiso and his son, our CEO, Chris have participated in Mountain Rescue teams and operations. Fostering safe and responsible access in the Scottish mountains is vitally important to us as is our support of those who volunteer across the many locals teams to come to the aid of those lost or injured.

BluesSki have supported ski racing in Scotland for generations through sponsoring races and the BluesHero programme. The special relationship between the Langmuir and Tiso family's endures with us working with the only race training charity based in Scotland reinforcing our investment in the next generation of young ski racing talent fulfilling their potential.
