IT Manager - Tiso Head Office, Edinburgh, Leith F/T

We are recruiting for a hands-on, technically focused, IT Manager to deliver first class solutions and services to our busy head office and retail operations across Scotland and England.

The role supports all functions, back office and front of house, delivering a great IT services across our entire retail business. The IT team is small and agile and requires a manager with strong technical skills and would suit anyone wishing to take the next step from technical lead into management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To own all IT products, services and assets and manage the day-to-day workload of the IT Team
  • To work closely with staff to ensure that all issues and requests are managed and resolved quickly and to a professional standard
  • To ensure that all IT systems used within the business are safe and secure and meet the required group standard
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on IT purchases and assist with the evaluation and selection of IT systems and solutions
  • Provide both project management and technical resource on local and group wide IT projects as and when required

Management Responsibilities:

  • To manage the day-to-day activities of the IT Team. Ensure that adequate cover is provided and that suitable arrangements are made for holiday and sickness cover. Program work schedules and monitor performance and productivity.
  • To conduct appraisal and staff management activities where appropriate
  • Manage the training and development of IT staff. Actively support knowledge transfer and the maintenance of skill sets within the IT team

Primary Technical Competencies:

  • Must be able to demonstrate hands on experience for the following technologies:
  • Retail ERP systems including stock & sales, warehouse management system (preferably Eurostop Retail Management Information System)
  • Core Microsoft technologies
    • AD, GPO, etc
  • Windows Server 2012 R2 / 2016 Server
  • Windows 7 / 10
  • Microsoft Office 365 suite
  • Microsoft SQL, with some knowledge and hands on experience of SQL Scripting
  • Reporting Tools such as Crystal Reports would be advantageous
  • HP Storage Area Networks
  • Knowledge of VMWare
  • Knowledge of Cisco & HP Network hardware
  • Experience of core networking technologies – IP, DHCP, DNS, VoIP, VPN, VLAN, WAN, LAN & WLAN
  • Practical experience of Mitel and Avaya VoIP telephone systems
  • Industry standard Anti-virus and security applications
  • Industry standard backup and recovery software
  • Apple iOS for Mac, iPad & iPhone
  • Supporting Android phones
  • Mobile device management
  • It would be advantageous to have experience of the following retail sector technologies
    • EPOS
    • Hand Held Scanners
    • Footfall systems
    • Security gates and tagging systems
    • CCTV

Experience and Qualifications:

  • At least five years’ hands-on experience of supporting SME businesses
  • Preferably, 3 years’ experience of working in a technical environment within the Retail sector supporting Eurostop’s eRMIS and eTouch platforms
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Computing or Mathematics related subject
  • Strong customer liaison and leadership skills
  • Well organised and systematic approach to problem solving
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of supporting and implementing GDPR and PCI DSS standards
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities practices
  • Must have a clean and current driving license

  • The post holder will be exposed to sensitive information, both personnel and commercial, and must ensure the confidentiality of this information at all times

Relationships, Teamwork & Leadership:

  • Maintain a professional relationship between suppliers and other teams within the Group
  • Maintain a high level of customer care and service provision
  • Hold regular team meetings and brief staff of communications from line management
  • Lead his or her team in a professional manner

Part Time Sales Assistant - Aviemore - Tiso Aviemore OE P/T

We are looking to recruit an individual who has previous retail or customer facing experience, is passionate about the delivery of excellent customer service and is an outdoor enthusiast to work in our technical flagship Outdoor Experience store in Aviemore.

This is a part time position and the successful candidate must have the flexibility to work both during the week and at weekends.

In return, we will supply extensive product knowledge and sales training, a fun and exciting working environment within one of the Highland's most exciting outdoor stores.
