Deputy Manager - Alpine Bikes Edinburgh - Alpine Bikes Edinburgh, Stockbridge F/T

We are currently seeking applications for the position of Deputy Manager to work in our Alpine Bikes store in Stockbridge, Edinburgh.   

As Deputy Manager, you will be part of the management team who strive towards ensuring the highest level of customer service is provided at all times.

The role of Deputy Manager demands first class customer service skills, communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team as the successful candidate will be required to be the duty manager on the Store Manager’s days off. The successful candidate will also have good merchandising skills and be able to prioritise and delegate tasks to the team.

It is essential that the successful candidate is a technical end user of the products we sell, has a keen and active interest in cycling and has previous retail experience, preferably at supervisory/deputy manager level.

Bicycle Mechanic - Tiso Inverness OE F/T

We are currently seeking applications for a Full Time Bicycle Mechanic to work in the Alpine Bikes department within our Inverness Outdoor Experience store.

We are looking for somebody with experience of delivering the highest standards of customer service in a bike workshop and the successful candidate will have experience working in the bike industry and will ideally be qualified to Cytech Level 2. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Daily workshop services as directed by the Store Manager
  • Maintain high quality and quantity of work, service standards, and behavior
  • Carry out the daily running of the workshop 
  • Repair and service customers bikes, this includes the preparation of ex-hire bikes for sale
  • Book in bikes for repairs etc meeting agreed deadlines
  • Estimating costs (labour & parts) and providing customer quotes
  • Dealing with customer queries and offering product or general cycling advice for the local area
  • Liaising with suppliers, other stores and Head Office Alpine team
  • Maintaining suitable stock levels for the workshop
  • Maintaining a tidy working environment
  • Maintaining a suitable level of industry knowledge and developments
  • Cover the sales floor as and when required
