Product Description
The Cinder range of cycling kit from Rab is designed for all kinds of adventures on two wheels. Whether it's a quick lap of the local woodland trails or a cross-continent bikepacking expedition, you can rely on Cinder clothing to go the distance.
The Cinder Phantom Waterproof Jacket is ideal for minimalist bikepacking. It's made from an incredibly lightweight, 7D, 2.5-layer Pertex Shield fabric, and the whole jacket weighs less than 100 g (about half an apple). It packs away super small and the stuff sack can be attached to your bike frame or saddle, so it's easily stowed away and forgotten about until you need it. This jacket is incredibly comfortable thanks to a bike-specific cut. An under-helmet hood and drop tail shelter your head from the rain and rear from tyre spray. Minimalist features like the stretch-bound cuffs and hem make putting the jacket on quick and simple, as well as reducing weight.

PFC-Free DWR
Fluorinated DWR finishes make clothing waterproof by repelling water droplets. ‘PFCs’ is the broad term for all fluorocarbon chemicals, of which PFOS and PFOA are sub-groups. Different chemicals in this family have a varying number of carbon atoms, so C6 has six carbon atoms and C8 has eight. While the outdoor industry has moved away from C8 (or 'long chain') PFCs, C6 (short chain) PFCs are currently unbeatable in their waterproofing performance. They're considered less harmful to the environment than C8, but they have not been proven to be safe. PFCs are known as forever chemicals; once created they will never break down and are harmful to people and the planet. To read more about the chemistry related to PFCs, head here.
PFC-Free DWR uses alternative, biodegradable technologies that repels water from the surface of a fabric - such as Fjallraven's Greenland Wax. PFC-Free DWR coatings are water resistant enough for most daily activities, so if you don’t need a highly technical waterproof, consider a PFC-Free garment instead.

How to Measure
Chest: measure around the fullest part of the chest with your arms down. Usually just under the pits.
Waist: measure around the narrowest part of the waist. Your waist is at the small of your back or where your body bends if you lean to the side.
Arm length: measure from the side of your neck to wrist fold, over the top of your arm.
Hips: measure around the widest part of your hip area.
Fit Descriptions
Slim: a streamlined silhouette. Cut trim following the contours of the body. Expertly placed articulation of seams and the use of stretch fabric ensure maximum freedom of movement in these close-fitting terms.
Regular: neither slim nor loose. Regular fit items are the perfect balance of form fit and ease of movement.
Relaxed: a more generous fit. Cut loosely through the body allowing for ease of movement and additional layering.
Expedition: designed specifically to accommodate the layering system and equipment required for high altitude and polar expeditions.
