Welcome to younger sibling of MBUK's 2021 Enduro bike of the year: The Trek Slash 7. It was the Slash 8 that was crowned King, but for a few differences, you can get a piece of the pie at a slightly lower price.
The Slash 7 has the same well proportioned aluminium frame with internal routing and storage and Knock Block 2.0 as the 8 but with different drive train components and suspension. You still get 160mm of rear and 170mm of front travel but with a RockShox Select+ shock and Yari RC fork. Still super impressive performance that'll never let you down in the gnarliest of enduro races. With that rear RockShox suspension you get the Active Breaking Pivot. The ABP keeps your suspension active while breaking, so say goodbye to losing traction and skidding when you need to be in control the most.
The 7 keeps you in the ever reliable Shimano drivetrain (rather than the SRAM with the 8) - so if this is your preferred brand, then you'll be glad of the Deore/XT choice. The 10-51 12 speed cassette will get you up any and all trails and fire roads and the 29" XR5 tubeless ready tyres will get you down the rest.
When you point it down rocky trails, the replaceable down tube guards protect the underside of your frame from rock strikes and trail debris so you can forget about damage worries.
So with the Slash 7 you get a high-value all-mountain ripper that’s built for shredding singletrack at full speed. Take it on a weekend ride with pals, or to your next enduro race. It'll be at home at both.
