In November 2021, four explorers embarked on a 14-day multi-sport adventure in Iceland. They followed conditions and elements around the island. From surfing the Icelandic waves, to climbing up icebergs to free diving beneath the surface of 1* water, they chased the fine line between frozen and liquid. Ambassadors Jimmy Martinello, Luca Sommaruga-Malaguti, Tim Emmett and filmmaker Brian Hockenstein, took to Iceland with a unique means of transport connecting each activity: their Red Paddle Co boards!
To celebrate the launch of her book Blue Scotland, Mollie Hughes talks about her inspirational achievements in her life and how she wants to inspire others to give things a go and not be afraid to take on their own adventures.
Sarah Blues fell in love with paddleboarding a few years ago and is now a paddleboarding addict. She is also making a strong movement, campaigning for diversity & inclusivity in outdoor kit & empowering women from all over, to get out onto the water and overcome barriers.
One of our mantras here at Red is to make the outdoors and paddle boarding as welcoming and accessible for as many people as possible. Yet, we realise the outdoors in a general sense can be quite intimidating for a lot of people, whether that is due to barriers such as ability, background, culture, or religion. In 2022 we hosted a group of people and allowed them to come together, get outside, inspire each other and support one another to explore the outdoors and break down those barriers, discussing challenges that we face in the outdoors.
