The benchmark against which all others are judged, the 200 Oasis Long Sleeve Crewe is icebreaker's best-selling base layer. A versatile active top for year-round layering and all day comfort. This soft, 100% merino jersey fabric is breathable, stretchy, odor-resistant, and with flatlock seams provides chafe-free comfort.

Taking inspiration from nature, icebreaker harnesses the performance qualities of natural fibers takes a different approach compared to clothing based on petrochemical synthetics. Merino is a renewable fiber that naturally resists odors, keeping you cool when it’s hot and warm when conditions change, and this lets your skin breathe for comfort all day, every day.  

The merino wool excells at regulating your body temperature , whether that's staying cool when it's hot or warming up when stationary or in cold climates. This is due to the sheep living in the New Zealand mountains, where weather is highly changable, just like in the Scottish Highlands.

Odour control technologies like POLYGIENE and naturally odour resistant fabrics like merino wool can help to reduce the number of times that we wash a garment by keeping it fresher for longer, in turn making it last longer.

  • Natural Fibres

    Products using natural fibres can range from cotton to wool to hemp and silk - but by being naturally made, they will also naturally biodegrade at their end of lifecycle. Even if you have a natural fibre product, it can probably still be recycled or repurposed before being disposed of. However, if it truly has reached the end of its use, natural fibres need air to biodegrade so please don't dispose of them in landfill.

  • Better Work

    This brand partners with Better Work. Better Work has the same objectives as Fair Wear Foundation and works within the clothing industry, though Better Work is run by the UN’s International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the International Finance Corporation. There is emphasis on working with the factories to improve labour practices, reducing excessive overtime and closing the gender pay gap. They aim to bring factories in line with ILO core labour standards and collaborate with governments to change national legislation on labour standards.
