Fox's Ranger 2.5 is a great jacket for riding in grotty weather. The 10,000mm hydrostatic head fabric and fully taped seams will keep out rain and trail spray. The DWR finish will shed moisture, mud, and debris as you shred, while the helmet-compatible hood will fit over most helmets out there. The zippered hand pockets allow easy access, even with gloves on, and safely carry of essentials. It's super packable too, so if you don't have 100% faith in the forecast, then you can throw it in your pack just in case.
