Bikes have come a long way in the last couple of years, and nowhere more so than with the emergence of gravel bikes. These versatile rigs are perfectly at home pounding out big mileage on the road, but they're not one trick ponies. A lightweight aluminium frame uses Cannondale's SmartForm tubing to save weight and engineer comfort, increasingly important on long and off road rides. Wide tyre clearance allows 700 x 37c tyres to come as standard, which really blur the lines between on and off road with their fast rolling tread yet high volume providing plenty of comfort. Disc brakes, internal cable routing and multiple mounting points for luggage and you've got a seriously capable bike on your hands.

Bolted to this chassis are a selection of durable and well thought out parts that really complete the adventure package. A wide ranging Shimano 9 speed drivetrain is mated to a 46/30 chainset which offers a nice easy gear for tough off road riding yet won't be out of place when you get some steam up on tarmac. Cable operated disc brakes are ultra reliable, especially if you head off the beaten track where there isn't a bike shop around the next corner, and still provide good braking in all conditions. Handbuilt Cannondale wheels with WTB Riddler tyres allow you to travel on virtually any terrain efficiently, and in comfort.
