When Specialized released the Turbo Levo last year, there was a collective intake of breath. E-bikes don't look like that, do they? It wasn't just good looks though. The Turbo Levo set a new standard for e-MTB performance, combining superb trail performance with an outstandingly intuitive, powerful and efficient motor. And now it's back for 2020.

Taking all the best bits from last season's bike, the 2020 Turbo Levo starts with a high quality M5 aluminium frame featuring the same asymetric design as the lauded Stumpjumper. With a moderate 66 degree head angle, steep 75 degree seat angle and lengthy trail figure, the geomtery is spot on for a modern trail bike - predictable yet fun, stable yet agile, and above all, intuitive.

The heart of the Turbo Levo is the custom electric motor. Unlike many brands, Specialized have designed and built their electric motor from the ground up. This 2.1 version offers 250W of power in a compact unit that is significantly smaller and lighter than the previous model. More than this, the motor delivers power smoothly so you get no awkward jumps forward when you least expect it - just controlled and progressive power, everywhere. Connected to this is the integrated battery that comes with a 500WH capacity. The battery fits seamlessly into the downtube and is easily removeable for charging. The electric system is completed with a display showing all the crucial metrics like battery charge, and can be easily connected via Bluetooth or ANT+ to your phone and other accessories for more control and information about your ride.

The rest of the bike is completed with a selection of great parts that balance function and value. The Rockshox 35 fork shares the same large diameter stancions of the Pike and Lyrik to provide stiffness and confidence on rough terrain, and precision through turns. SRAM's NX 1x11 drivetrain is wide ranging and smooth operating, while matching Level T brakes take care of all your stopping duties using big 200mm rotors. 

Wide 29 x 2.6" tyres on 30mm rims translate into a wide contact area on the ground for excellent grip, and easy tubeless setup. Specialized's own ergonomic and stylish finishing kit, including Henge saddle in a width to suit the rider, added to a reliable dropper seatpost complete the package.
