About The Access:
There's more than meets the eye with the Cube Access. Cube's engineers put just as much effort into their entry level mountain bikes like the Access as they do race-ready machines, and it really shows in the Access.
Using a lightweight aluminium frame is a good start, but Cube have shaped the tubes in every area to provide better performance. That means a slim top tube and seat stays to provide some comfort on the trails and help dissipate vibrations. Conversely the down tube and chainstays are beefed up with extra material to increase stiffness, so when you're pedalling hard, all your power reaches the rear wheel for maximum efficiency. Pretty impressive technology for a bike under £600.
The ride itself is defined by the geometry, and Cube have aimed the Analog at the new but commited mountain bike rider. That means you get a confidence-inspiring ride that is stable at speed and agile enough to get to grip with all the turns of the trail without feeling skittery. The women's specific fit allows for more comfort and control than a typical unisex bike too. For anyone starting out in mountain biking, it's a great platform with plenty of scope to develop your skills without growing out of the bike.
Away from the trails, the Access is a good all round bike as happy to ride with the family as it is to do some long distance riding on mixed surfaces, as happy to nip to the shops as commute to work. You'll find the Access has versatility in abundance.
As is usual for Cube, value for money is super high. A wide ranging Shimano triple chainset and 9-speed cassette offer plenty of gears to get you up every steep climb and let you fly along fast roads and trails. Add in 2sturdy 27.5" wheels, a quality suspension fork with 100mm travel and powerful Shimano disc brakes, and you've got everything you need to thrive off road.
Sure, you can get lighter bikes, more capable off road bikes, more radical bikes, but as a balance the Access is seriously tough to beat for the price. Ideal for anyone starting their MTB journey who needs a bike to do a bit of everything.
