Britain has a fine reputation for many things, but in the world of cycling, there's nothing defines the UK as much as the hardcore hardtail, and Whyte are the absolute masters.

A hardcore hardtail? What's that? Glad you asked. It's a bike designed for hooning, for railing berms, hucking off every lip you can find, and all in a super tough package with no rear suspension (because that's more maintenance, and the hardtail is the definition of riding simplicity). The 905 follows this mantra to a tee.

The alloy frame is light, but it's also tough. Really tough. It can take a beating and keep coming back for more. It's also got its geometry dialled. That long top tube, short 35mm stem, wide 780mm bars and slack 64.5° head angle come together to make a super stable ride that is at home smashing down flat out descents yet sharp enough for snaking down sketchy line choices. Probably the hardest of hardtails you're likely to find.

This 905 model features a 130mm travel Rockshox Pike RC with big stanchions to further increase the bike's bulldozer-like attributes, and a short offset for better all round handling. Super-wide 27.5 x 2.80" plus tyres add masses of grip and traction. You'll never skid out on a climb, and you'll soon be searching out tougher lines on the descents thanks to the sticky nature of these high-volume tyres. SRAM's NX & X1 Eagle 1x12 groupset provides a super-wide range of gears in a slick package while matching Guide T 4-piston brakes rein it all in when things get out of hand.
