About The Kathmandu:
The Kathmandu is possibly the most versatile bike in our range. Whether you're riding the daily commute, buzzing around town or heading into the country, the Kathmandu has the features to take you all sorts of places.
The lightweight aluminium frame focuses on strength, comfort and efficiency. Strength so it can deal with the rigours of the road, whether it be rough city streets or in the depths of the Himalayas. Comfort so your body can stand up to long miles in the saddle without feeling beat up. Efficiency so that not a drop of your ebergy is wasted. Combined with the adjustable Suntour suspension fork, the Kathmandu provides a comfortable chassis ideal for long rides on mixed terrain.
As you'd expect from a bike with such large ambitions, the build kit is exemplary. 3 x 10 speed Shimano gearing gives you every gear you could ever need, for the toughest of climbs with a pannier full of kit to long descents where you want to maximise speed. Matching hydraulic disc brakes keep your speed under control, even when the bike is heavily laden. Stout wheels shod with the excellent Schwalbe Range Cruiser tyres roll easily on smooth surfaces but give a good bite on rough ground for a confident ride.
Unlike many bikes, the Kathmandu is fully kitted out from the start. Not only do you get full length mudguards, a kickstand and a neat integrated rack as standard, front and rear lights powered by a a dynamo front hub means you'll never be caught out as night falls.
Whether you have grand ambitions for a long tour or want a super reliable bike for daily commuting, the Kathmandu is a great option. Sturdy, practical and efficient, it's a pure mile muncher.
A NOTE ON THE FRAME: The Kathmandu Pro is available in standard and trapeze-style unisex frames. Sizes with a T refer to the trapeze style. With the lowered top tube, mounting and dismounting from the bike is significantly easier. Otherwise the bikes are identical. Images above show the standard bike first and trapeze frame after.
