The Rover is an apt name for this helmet. The design is such that it is at home on virtually any terrain, wherever you may roam. Smith's lightweight Aerocore construction builds in 20 channeled vents which direct airflow over your head to easily disperse excess heat and keep you from getting too sweaty. However, it's protection where the Rover really shines.
Koroyd technology looks a lot like drinking straws clumped together, and while it might not sound innovative, it's a superb material for absorbing impacts. Unlike pure EPS foam, Koroyd evenly distributes forces to better protect your head, plus it's mostly made of air, so you get excellent ventialtion and breathability. By absorbing and crumplinig on impact, the material absorbs energy rather than deflecting it as with traditional foam.
Combined with Koroyd is a MIPS liner. MIPS is an internal cradle that effectively reduces rotational forces being passed onto your brain, and has become a standard feature on performance cycling helmets.
In the Rover, the Koroyd is strategically placed in the highest impact areas, leaving maximum breathability and ventilation elsewhere. A highly adjustable retention system and an anti-bacterial lining ensure a comfortable and secure fit. The adjustable visor fixes into two separate positions and plays well with glasses.
As an all round helmet for mountain biking, gravel riding, cyclocross, touring, bikepacking, commuting, and virtually any other type of cycling, the Rover has no equal. Versatile and safe with excellent performance.
