The Grand Prix 5000S TR is one of the fastest road cycling tyres on the market. Continental tyres adorn the wheels of many a pro peloton road racer, and for good reason... they are fast! This most recent iteration improves on the previous generation by shedding weight, improving sidewall strength and they're easier to install. The "TR" in the name refers to the tyres tubeless compatibilty. Just add 30ml of sealant to decrease rolling resistance and cut even more rotating mass. Going tubeless will also help reduce puncture risk but even if you stick to a good old fashioned inner tubes the vectran breaker will ward off punctures through the centre tread. At 30mm wide, this tyre is ideal for maximising speed on coarse roads or if you just want a little more comfort on smooth roads.
If you're going to be riding on good roads and want to go as fast as possible, check out the 28mm GP 5000 tyre. For riding on rougher roads or a little more comfort then take a look at the 32mm GP 5000 tyre.
If you don't need the fastest tyre ever and would pefer something slightly more robust that will last longer and have greater puncture resistance, then take a look at Continental's Grand Prix 4 Season tyre.
However, if you want a tyre for road racing, KoM chasing or just a super speedy commute then this is the Grand Prix 5000S TR is the tyre for you.
