Product Description

It can be used as a soft, breathable midlayer for cold winter days or it can be thrown over a t-shirt for a lightweight warmth boost on chilly summer evenings at the crag. The PrimaLoft® Silver Luxe synthetic insulation retains its loft, dries fast and eliminates cold spots in changeable mountain conditions. Thermic™ stretch fleece panels at the sides promote rapid moisture dispersal, while helping the jacket move more freely with your body.

Built with recycled fabrics and insulation along with micro-baffle stitch-through construction for slim-fit breathability, the Cirrus Flex 2.0 Jacket features two internal stash pockets, an adjustable drawcord hem and articulated sleeves with semi-elasticated cuffs. Easy to layer, packable and effective in mixed weather, this is the practical, low-maintenance way to add flexible warmth to your outdoor layering system.

Think Green

We know our customers like to know exactly what they're buying; we're not going to sugar coat it, but we are going to explain it. We've divided up all of the sustainable features we've identified across our product ranges and grouped them into three so you know how your purchase is making an impact: Think Nature, Think Welfare, Think People.

The Rab Men's Cirrus Flex 2.0 Jacket has the following sustainability attributes...

Think Green Logo
  • Carbon Neutral Company

Carbon Neutral or Climate Neutral brands have been third party verified as reducing their carbon footprint, often balancing their remaining emissions with carbon credits to support projects that are combating the climate emergency.

  • PFC-Free DWR

Fluorinated DWR finishes make clothing waterproof by repelling water droplets. ‘PFCs’ is the broad term for all fluorocarbon chemicals, of which PFOS and PFOA are sub-groups. Different chemicals in this family have a varying number of carbon atoms, so C6 has six carbon atoms and C8 has eight. While the outdoor industry has moved away from C8 (or 'long chain') PFCs, C6 (short chain) PFCs are currently unbeatable in their waterproofing performance. They're considered less harmful to the environment than C8, but they have not been proven to be safe. PFCs are known as forever chemicals; once created they will never break down and are harmful to people and the planet. To read more about the chemistry related to PFCs, head here.

PFC-Free DWR uses alternative, biodegradable technologies that repels water from the surface of a fabric - such as Fjallraven's Greenland Wax. PFC-Free DWR coatings are water resistant enough for most daily activities, so if you don’t need a highly technical waterproof, consider a PFC-Free garment instead.

  • Recycled Down/Synthetic Insulation

Sourcing down or synthetic insulation from post-consumer products makes a very easy solution to the ethical question around virgin down and stops synthetic fibres (aka plastic) from entering landfill. Don’t worry about where it’s been – all recycled down and synthetic insulation is cleaned before being reused in a new product! Buying recycled insulation helps reduce the environmental impact of a new product.

  • Recycled Fabrics

By recycling fabrics, we are not only stopping extra waste heading to landfill but also reducing the need for virgin fabrics to be created. Recycled fabrics can be anything from recycled polyester to recycled cotton and where recycled cotton is used, it's often offcuts from factory floors that would otherwise end up in landfill.

  • Fair Wear Foundation

This brand partners with the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF). The Fair Wear Foundation is a clothing industry specific, non-profit organization that ensures sustainable, fair and safe labour conditions in factories. They work directly with brands, factories, trade unions, NGOs and governments to establish a living wage and a working environment that’s free from gender-based violence, discrimination and harassment. There is emphasis on a brand’s business practices and how this can make direct sustainable change, alongside factory audits and worker interviews.

How to Measure

Chest: measure around the fullest part of the chest with your arms down. Usually just under the pits.

Waist: measure around the narrowest part of the waist. Your waist is at the small of your back or where your body bends if you lean to the side.

Arm length: measure from the side of your neck to wrist fold, over the top of your arm.

Fit Descriptions

Slim: a streamlined silhouette. Cut trim following the contours of the body. Expertly placed articulation of seams and the use of stretch fabric ensure maximum freedom of movement in these close-fitting terms.

Regular: neither slim nor loose. Regular fit items are the perfect balance of form fit and ease of movement.

Relaxed: a more generous fit. Cut loosely through the body allowing for ease of movement and additional layering.

Expedition: designed specifically to accommodate the layering system and equipment required for high altitude and polar expeditions.

A practical option for our often wet & damp climate.

As a touring cyclist I found the Cirrus to be a superb choice. The synthetic filling is warm practical & packable. Stretch panels on sides & under arms eliminates bulk. Good sleeve & torso length also
