Trek Domane SL 5 - Gen 4 - Mercury

Trek's Domane SL road bikes are ideal for seasoned road riders who love long days in the saddle, group rides and/or a spot of racing. The 500 Series OCLV Carbon frame is brand new for the Gen 4 bike. It still has excellent damping, bump-smoothing rear IsoSpeed, and stable endurance geometry but there are some new bells and whistles too. The frame is even lighter and more aero, with total bike weight reduced by almost 300g and new Kammtail tube shapes for extra aerodynamic efficiency. The tall headtube and short reach put the rider in an upright position with less stress on their arms and neck which is great for long Sunday rides and endurance race events.

Voluminous 32mm tyres smooth out rough roads and provide plenty of grip in the corners. You can even fit 38mm tyres if you fancy taking the Domane on the road less travelled for some gravel fun. Flat-mount hydraulic disc brakes are powerful and reliable so you'll never be short of stopping power. There are mounts to fit full-length mudguards for winter riding, plus internal storage in the downtube for housing ride essentials like a flat kit. The Domane SL 5 comes equipped with a high-end, 11-speed Shimano 105 drivetrain. It is the beneficiary of trickledown tech from the top-tier groupsets and it shows in the quality of the shifting. Smaller gear jumps make it easier to find a comfortable cadence and shifting between the gears is lovely and crisp. All cable routing is fully internal, and sleekly concealed in the stem for a clean-looking cockpit.
